Gift Card Holder

Hello everyone, its Cheryl with a Gift Card Holder made for The Scrapping Cottage, and our Challenge #8 hosted by Pearl(square card& Embellished Cottage Cutz)
I LOVE making these they are super fun and easy to make.

Hope you will join us for her SUPER FUN challenge to make a Square Card & Embellish in 3-D a Cottage Cutz Die :)
On my Gift Card holder i used the Christmas collection cottage cutz dies-
Ribbons
Pearls,Stickles,button

Here is the inside that holds the gift card. Also there is room to write on the inside, if i add another frame.

So for my Winter Bird i used design paper for the red and white. i added a black pearl for the eye, and then white pearls to separate the white and red. I added some red stickles to the wing. I wanted some greenery and added some to the botton of the bird with 2 candy canes.

I also stamped Merry Christmas from the Boxwood Vine and Wreath Cottage Cutz Die. love that this set has some stamps to match.

Thank you for looking and have a lovely day!

Hugs to all,

Gift Tags with Matching Box

Just in time for Christmas I created a gift box of gift tags. . a great gift for someone at the work, next door or that person who has everything . . and who has enough gift tags at Christmas anyway.
The box 9" long, 2" high and 3" wide. I added a gift tag label and the above gift tag.  Notice the colors in the outer edge area's of the snowflake.
Really easy to cut three each of the snowflakes from the Cottage Cutz Filigree Snowflake die. I cut one each of three colors of blue. Than took the large pieces that came out of each snowflake and added them randomly back into the other snowflakes. . .like a puzzle. This gave each snowflake a three color shadings without cutting the snowflake more than once.
Than I randomly glued the snowflakes onto tags. Notice how I overlapped the snowflake. . that way the cut off of the other side of the same snowflake . . could use on the same tag.  I sponged a bit of blue ink around the edges of the white tag.
For the additional three snowflake tags I used the Cottage Cutz Snowflake Doily die. Again cutting only three and using the tree shape pop out to fill the other snowflakes.
I also added blue swirl lines with a rubber stamp to randomly fill the white area, than used Stickle on some of the blue ink lines and added a few jewels. The tags were knotted with a white sparkling wired rope cord. All six tags fit into the 3"x9" box to create the gift.
Here I have shown you how I cut all the tags the same size on the top. Each tag was 2.5" x 6". when I found the angle that I wanted on the corners of one the tag. . I built a Jig, I rolled tape and put a triangle at the top of the cutter and than taped a scrap (green) of paper at the bottom, than all I had to do is lay the retangular tag into the frame (jig). . cut one corner, flip the paper and cut the other side. Every tag had exactly the same angle.
These are the the Cottage Cutz dies that I used for the seven tags.

Cottage Cutz . . Snowflake Doily 4x4 and Filigree Snowflake 4x4

Thank You and hope all of you are having a Merry Season. Barry

I love Snowflakes!

It seems like I'm always drawn to snowflakes and this CottageCutz Filigree Snowflake is no exception. I simply cut these out of a heavy white cardstock and then added Stickles, Star Trail pen and gems to embellish them.

The one on the right I glued down to the cardstock and the other one I applied mounting tape to it to give it some dimension.
Be sure to visit us tomorrow for our Second Saturday Challenge from Pearl.
Have a wonderful Friday!

Santa has Laundry too!

For those that didn't get a chance to participate in the blog hop last weekend I wanted to share with you the card I made with Santa's Clothesline. Yes, Santa has laundry too - of course
Mrs. Claus gets to do that.......

This is such a fun die and makes a great rectangular card. I inked the edges, added some Stickles and some details with my Star Trail pen and used pop dots to give it more dimension.

I'll see you back here tomorrow with a new Christmas creation.
Have a great day!

Season's Greetings

Hello everyone!  Sorry for the late post.  Better late than never right?  I have a couple of cards to show you using the Boxwood Vine Wreath and I had an extra snowman scrap from the Snowman in Mug die.

I cut the wreath out twice and inked the leaves a bit with Brilliance olive ink.  I put the 2 wreaths together and then wrapped some red and white twine around it.  I had the snowman hold a stocking, and added a few poinsettias to the wreath along with a bow.  I then used some striped background paper for the card.  I stamped the sentiment, included with the die, onto the banner.

I used some of the other parts from the boxwood die to make the second card.  I put 2 of the banners together to make it look like garland.  Have you seen the new hunting dies?  You may check them out here.  As always, thanks for stopping by!

Hugs and smiles,
Janice

Another Sparkly Ornament

Good morning!  It's snowing here in mid Missouri, and oh how pretty it is.   Lorie here to share a card with you today.  That first little bit of snowfall for the season brings out the kid in all of us, and today is certainly no exception.  It's the perfect day to share a Christmas card complete with snowflakes and sparkles, and that's exactly what I've got for you.
I used a couple of techniques for this card.  First, I created some background paper using an ornament die cut from the Holiday Ornament Cottage Cutz made Easy die.  I just cut the ornament using the waxy paper that you peel away from the foam that comes with your Cottage Cutz dies.  That stuff is wonderful for this technique, because when you spritz your paper,  with Glimmer Mist, it won't stick to the die cut, and you can reuse it time and time again.  I moved the die cut around on the paper and misted away.  Since I was using a light blue Glimmer Mist, I didn't mind if there was a little over spray.  In fact, I liked that look.  Let your paper dry well, or dry it carefully with a heat embossing tool, and use just as you would any paper.

For the ornament, I cut 1 layer with glitter card stock, then cut a layer of blue by hand in the same color as my base card stock for a backing on the ornament, and to make the sparkly part stand out.  The snowflake embossing folder is from Stampin' Up!.  Combining techniques shows just how versatile these dies are, and adds so much interest and texture to all your cards and projects!

So happy you could stop by today!  Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!!!

Love ya!
Lorie

Boxwood Vine Wreath with a Twist

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all having a great weekend!  Today I've created a card using the Boxwood Vine Wreath Die. I added a small twist to my wreath.  I cut it out of two varying shades of green and then I took one of my wreaths and snipped it in open.  This allowed me to wrap one wreath around the other letting the shades of green mix together for a more realistic  and fuller feel.

Don't forget to jump into our blog hop we are having right now with PSA Essentials...today's the last day.

PSA Essentials/Cottage Cutz Blog Hop - Day 2

Hi Everyone!
Just popping in for a quick second to let you know today is DAY 2 of the Scrapping Cottage's co-hop with PSA Essentials!

Here's a look at the card I made for the hop:

I was lucky enough to be in a hop with PSA earlier this year and used one of the sweet Whimsy Cakes to make this gingerbread couple look like they'd baked a holiday treat just for you!

I used the Gingerbread Doll Die from the Peachy Keen line as well as the Doll Accessories 1 package.

Just in case you didn't get a chance to visit all the stops yesterday, here's a list of all the designers!
Have fun!

The Best Gift of Christmas

The best gift at Christmas for me ,
year after year ,
is eternal life which is the gift of God
in Christ Jesus. ( Roms 6:23)
"Christ" is my reason for this season.

And helping me capture my belief is the Cottage Cutz Nativity Silhouette
I have diecut my Nativity scene out of self adhesive cardstock
and used American Craft's Glitter Gel pens to add highlights .
A few choice colors and pieces of bling
easily finishes off this Nativity scene for me .

Blessings to you and yours
as we celebrate this sacred season !
