Thank You Card

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

Our new Folk Art release is still available in the online store at 35% off individual dies. There are 19 new designs that are so perfect for cardmaking, journaling, and scrapbooking.

They allow you to add a beautiful touch of folk art to whatever you may be creating - birthday, thank-you, new home, thinking of you and even Christmas. The design team has featured many creative ideas using these dies so take a look back at our posts for inspiration.

For my card today I am doing a throwback to some older dies from a 2018 release. I used the Stitched Jars & Stitched Fruit dies to create a thank you card. My neighbor always sends us a jar of her homemade pear butter each year and I want to be prepared with a thank you card. The pears are on her tree now and will be ripe in a few weeks.

Design Steps:
I started my card with an old sketch I had saved on my computer.
I looked through my designer paper to see if I had any pear themed paper. I found this one that I have had for years and thought it would work for my card layout.

Chocolate Chip Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Curry Layer: 4" x 5 1/4"
Designer Paper Layer: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
Next, I cut the jar and pear. I used vellum for the jar and a metallic silver for the jar lid. The pear is cut in olive card stock.
For the rectangle panels on the sketch, I used the Stitched Rectangle Set on the choc chip panel.  It's the 3rd largest die (2 7/8" x 3 7/8"). The curry panel is cut from the Rectangle Set. I used the 2nd largest die (2 5/8" x 3 5/8").
I used the Thanks w/Shadow die for my sentiment. The shadow is cut in choc chip and the thanks phrase in olive.
My elements are all cut. I am ready to start assembly. I attached the card base and both layering panels w/double sided tape.
For the image panel I attached the jar w/clear glue- adding it behind the lid and where I was placing the pear image. The pear image is lifted slightly off the jar with dimensional adhesive. I used a border die cut in chocolate chip and added white pearls for interest.  I also added some chocolate chip ribbon.
To finish off my card I attached the Thanks phrase with glue dots and scattered a few more pearls.
Well, that's it for me for this post. See you next Saturday.

Jars of jam

Hi, Janja here!

Nothing can be compared to homemade jams. In the month of May, when the first strawberries are mature, I begin to prepare our jams.
I like how my home smells when I cook fruit. I like the taste and beautiful colors.

I used cute stitched jars on today's first card and filled them with strawberry jam.

Supplies:
- Cottagecutz dies: Stitched Jars, Kitchen Chef (Chef hat), Stitched Sewing Notions (hand made label), Springtime Strawberries, Nested Stitched Scallop Oval Set, Oval Set, Stitched Wide Oval Frame Set
- white card base: 5.3 x 5.3" (13,5 x 13,5 cm, folded
- patterned paper: 5 x 5" (12,7 x 12,7 cm)
- white cardstock
- Memento inks: Lady Bug, Rhubarb Stalk, Dandelion, Peart Tart, Bamboo Leaves
- white pen
- glue, double-sided adhesive tape, self-adhesive pads

Cut out all pieces, and color them with ink pads. I used the stamp for sentiment. For oval cutouts use the largest dies from the three basic oval sets.
When we have everything ready, we begin with gluing.

A card with a glass of homemade jam can also be a nice gift.

Nothing is better than one afternoon in a company of good friends and a cup of coffee.

Supplies:
- white card base: 4.25 x 53.5" (10,7 x 13,9 cm, folded
- kraft cardstock: 3.74 x 5" (9,5 x 12,6 cm)
- watercolor paper
- Distress refill Brushed Courduroy
- Distress inks: Antique Linen, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss
- watercolor brush

Cut out a rectangle from watercolor paper, and add drops with a brush on it. It does not matter if a few drops are spilled. This is the purpose of this background.
In the middle we add some nice phrase about coffee and friends.
Cut out the tray and cups and color them.

Completed card.

I would like to remind you that the new "Llamas & Botanical" release is available for 25% less.

Thank you for coming over. Have a nice day.

Homemade Goodies!

Good Morning to Our Scrapping Cottage Fans!

It is Pam sharing with you today from Stamper at Heart Blog Spot.
Before I get started I wanted to give you a heads up about the sales we are have at our store.  We have a Collection of new release dies called Rise and Shine that are currently 25% off and they are just so much fun!  To see some card samples from the design team click here,  here and here!

Now onto the card for today! I had a stash of country looking paper so I used that as my inspiration for today's card!  Plus I have a friend from church who makes delicious jams and butters.  I was lucky enought to get one of each.  So I thought this would make a cute thank you card.

 1.  Using the Stitched Jar and Stitched Fruit die cut out the different elements.  I cut the jars out of vellum and silver paper for the lids.  The fruit is cut out of different colors of card stock
 2.  Use copics to give the jars a little shading
 3.  Glue the labels and lids to the jars
 4.  Using the labels as a base glue down the different fruits inside the jars on the back of the jars
 5.  Use a vanilla A2 card base and cut a piece of 4 x 5 1/4 piece of yellow card stock and a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of DP from the Studio Calico South of Market Collection.  Also cut a 5 x 1 1/2 strip of DP newsprint.
 6.  Glue all the pieces together and pop dot the jars to the card front
 7.  Cut out 3 Thanks and glue together and then add glossy accent to the top
8.  Cut out a small rectangle using the Double Stitched Rectangle die.  Glue to the front and then glue down the word Thanks
